The workflow explained

What is a Tradovate to DXtrade trade copier?

Tradovate supplies the account trade. Copygram applies your receiver rules. DXtrade receives the order.

A Tradovate to DXtrade trade copier uses trades opened on a Tradovate sender account as instructions for a connected DXtrade receiver. Copygram links the accounts in a room and applies the receiver’s symbol mapping, sizing and order settings.

Tradovate is the sender and DXtrade is the receiver. Both remain separate trading accounts. Copygram applies your symbol mapping and receiver settings to each DXtrade order, while balances and positions stay in their respective accounts.

How it works · step by step

How to copy Tradovate trades to DXtrade in 4 steps

Connect your accounts, create a room, configure your receiver and start copying. Use the same workflow with demo and live accounts.

Tradovate to DXtrade connect workflow in Copygram.

01

Connect Tradovate and DXtrade

Connect Tradovate through OAuth and select your sender account. Add DXtrade, enter your username, password and broker domain, then select the receiving account. Use the account details supplied by your broker or prop firm.

02

Create a room with Tradovate as the sender

Choose your connected Tradovate account as the source and add the DXtrade account as a receiver. A room connects one sender to one or more receivers, each with independent settings. Use separate rooms for different senders.

03

Map symbols and set receiver sizing

Map the exact Tradovate contract to your DXtrade instrument. Set receiver sizing, symbol-specific lot exceptions, filters, stops and targets. Choose close and modification controls, then set your trading schedule and timezone.

04

Activate your room and start copying

Start your room to copy Tradovate trades to DXtrade automatically. Copygram applies your receiver settings to incoming trades. Follow entries, stops, targets and trade updates in your Copygram logs and DXtrade account. Demo and live accounts are supported.

Symbol mapping

Map Tradovate futures to your DXtrade instruments

Connect the exact source contract to your broker’s destination symbol. Micro S&P 500 futures and an S&P 500 CFD illustrate the relationship.

Dated MES futures contract mapped to a broker’s S&P 500 CFD with independent DXtrade lot sizing.

MES → your S&P 500 CFD

Map the exact Micro E-mini S&P 500 futures contract and expiry from Tradovate to the S&P 500 instrument on your DXtrade receiver.

Use the broker’s exact symbol

Your broker may name its S&P 500 instrument US500, SPX500 or another identifier. Select the name shown on your account, including any prefix or suffix.

Set receiver lots independently

Choose the DXtrade volume through receiver sizing and symbol-specific lot exceptions. Mapping selects the destination instrument; sizing determines its volume.

Update the source at rollover

When you move to a new Tradovate contract month, update the exact source contract in your mapping while keeping the intended DXtrade destination.

This example illustrates the mapping relationship. Use the exact futures contract and the S&P 500 instrument identifier shown by your connected accounts.

A worked example

Set DXtrade lot size independently from futures contracts

Source contracts and destination lots use different sizing conventions. Define the receiving volume with your account’s instrument specifications.

Independent receiver lot size

Illustrative mapping example

Source contract value

One CME Micro E-mini S&P 500 futures contract represents $5 per index point. Its minimum price tick is 0.25 index points.

Destination value per lot

Use the value per point and contract size defined for your broker’s DXtrade instrument when setting the receiving volume.

Sizing method and exceptions

Choose your receiver sizing method and use a symbol-specific lot exception to set the intended S&P 500 CFD volume.

Minimum volume and increments

Apply the receiving instrument’s minimum lot size, volume step and price increment when configuring the receiver.

Costs and account currency

Include the destination’s spread, commissions, financing and account currency when comparing monetary exposure.

Independent account exposure

Set each DXtrade receiver’s volume using its balance, instrument specifications and intended position size.

Use the destination price for stops and targets

S&P 500 futures and your broker’s S&P 500 CFD have separate quotes. Configure protective orders using the DXtrade instrument’s price basis and receiver settings.

Separate symbol mapping from sizing

Mapping selects the destination instrument. Your receiver sizing rule determines the lot size. Configure both so the automation follows your intended position volume.

The futures specification describes the source contract. Your broker’s instrument specification and receiver settings define the destination volume.

DXtrade receiver controls

Control how each DXtrade receiver copies trades

Configure each receiver for its account and instrument. Use independent sizing, symbol rules and trade-management settings for accounts following the same Tradovate sender.

Money management and symbol exceptions

Choose your receiver sizing method and use symbol-specific lot exceptions for individual instruments. Each DXtrade receiver has independent volume settings based on its broker’s contract specifications.

FAQ

Tradovate to DXtrade — Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about account connections, futures mapping, destination sizing and receiver controls.

Can I copy trades from Tradovate to DXtrade?

Yes. Copygram connects a Tradovate sender to a DXtrade receiver through a room. Trades on the source account are copied using your symbol mapping, receiver sizing and trade-management settings. Demo and live accounts are supported.

How do I connect Tradovate to DXtrade with Copygram?

Connect Tradovate through OAuth and select your sender account. Add DXtrade, enter your username, password and broker domain, then select the receiving account. Create a room, add the receiver, configure mapping and sizing, and activate copying.

Do I need API keys for Tradovate or DXtrade?

No separate API key is needed for either connection in this workflow. Tradovate uses OAuth. For DXtrade, enter your username, password and broker domain, then choose the receiving account in Copygram.

What should I enter in the DXtrade Domain field?

Use the DXtrade trading-platform domain supplied by your broker or prop firm, in the format requested by Copygram. Enter the username and password for that provider, then select the receiving account. The domain identifies your provider’s trading platform; use its platform address rather than the DXtrade vendor website.

Can I map MES futures to an S&P 500 instrument on DXtrade?

Yes. Map the exact Tradovate MES contract, including its expiry, to your broker’s S&P 500 instrument. The destination may use a name such as US500 or SPX500; use the exact identifier shown on your account. Set receiver lots separately and update the source mapping when you change contract months.

Does one Tradovate futures contract equal one DXtrade lot?

Futures contracts and DXtrade lots use different sizing conventions. One MES contract represents $5 per index point, while your broker defines the value and minimum volume of its destination instrument. Use Copygram receiver sizing and symbol-specific lot exceptions to set the receiving volume.

How do I manage stops, targets, closes and modifications?

Configure stop-loss and take-profit behavior using the DXtrade instrument’s price basis. Enable Copy Close Orders and Copy Modif Orders for the close and update actions you want the receiver to follow. Manage these settings independently for each receiving account.

Can one Tradovate account copy to several DXtrade accounts?

Yes. A Copygram room connects one sender to one or more receivers, including multiple DXtrade accounts. Select each account and configure its symbol mapping, sizing and trade-management settings. Choose a plan that covers the connected accounts you need.

Do I need a VPS, MetaTrader or an open browser?

No. Copygram runs the Tradovate to DXtrade copying workflow in the cloud. You do not need an intermediate MT4 or MT5 account, an EA, a VPS or an open browser window. Keep your account connections and room active to run the automation.

Can I use TradingView with this Tradovate-to-DXtrade workflow?

Yes. When a trade placed through TradingView opens on your connected Tradovate account, Copygram can use that account trade as the source and copy it to DXtrade. This page covers account-to-account copying from Tradovate; standalone TradingView alerts use a webhook workflow.
