Apex rules

Does Apex allow copy trading?

Allowed, with limits

Every rule links to the Apex page it comes from. Compare Apex with other firms in the prop firm rules table.

Copying between your own accounts Allowed, with limits

Copying between your own Performance Accounts (personal and business user accounts) is allowed, as long as all accounts trade the same direction and the 20-PA cap is respected. Tradovate Group Trade is enabled automatically for users with more than one Tradovate account, and WealthCharts has a built-in copier. The Live program FAQ says group trading is not permitted on live accounts.

“Copy trading across PA accounts under your personal name and business name is allowed.”

Third-party trade copiers Allowed

No Apex page bans a trader's own third-party copier outright. The legacy PA compliance page says the trader is solely responsible for results from trade copiers or external programs, and Apex encourages submitting software for approval before use. The same page bars PA and Live accounts from being managed by copy-trading services or trade-mirroring software run by another party.

Bots and automated trading Not allowed

Automation and algorithms are banned. The legacy compliance page names AI, autobots, algorithms, fully automated systems, HFT and set-and-forget trading, and says the ban covers all account types. The Live program FAQ repeats that automation is not allowed. ATM bracket orders, which automate stops and targets, are explicitly encouraged.

Copying to or from other firms Not stated

Trade copying with other traders is forbidden. Copying to or from accounts at other prop firms is not addressed. Apex's Tradovate FAQ says the Apex trade copier, when connected through NinjaTrader, can trade Tradovate, Rithmic and personal broker accounts at the same time.

Opposite positions across accounts Not allowed

All accounts must trade directionally. Opposing long and short positions in the same or correlated instruments are banned, including across multiple accounts and against other traders in the same household. A violation closes the account.

Account limits

Up to 20 active PAs at a time, counted across EOD, Intraday and Legacy PAs and across everyone in the same household and related companies. Apex says there is no limit on evaluation accounts, but it prohibits stockpiling discounted evaluations in order to blow through them. Live traders can scale up to 5 live accounts.

How it works

Copy trades to your Apex accounts

Copygram connects Apex accounts through Tradovate.

  1. 01

    Connect your Apex accounts

Add each evaluation or funded account through Tradovate, using the login details Apex gives you.

  2. 02

Make the account you trade the source

Apex bans bots and automation, so the Room's source is the account where you place trades by hand, not an alert, a signal channel or an AI agent.

  3. 03

    Create a Room

A Room links one signal source to one or more receiver accounts.

  4. 04

    Set receiver rules and start

Each receiver gets its own sizing, stops, symbol mapping and filters.

Settings for each Apex account

Each account in a Room has its own settings, so one signal can open different sizes, stops and symbols on each account.

  • Money management

Fixed lot or risk-based sizing for every copied trade.

Example Test a new source at a fixed 0.10 lot, then move to percentage-of-balance risk.

  • Stop loss and take profit

Use the signal's levels, set your own, and decide whether to trade when a level is missing.

Example Refuse any trade that arrives without a stop loss.

  • Symbol mapping

Translate the source's symbol names to your platform's names.

Example GOLD in the signal becomes XAUUSD on your broker.

  • Symbol filters

Execute only listed symbols, or skip the ones you don't trade.

Example Copy EURUSD, GBPUSD and XAUUSD only.

  • Lot exceptions per symbol

A fixed size for specific symbols that overrides the general rule.

Example Gold always opens at 0.01 even when the default is 0.50.

  • Prefixes and suffixes

Detect or add broker symbol prefixes and suffixes automatically.

Example EURUSD becomes EURUSD.pro on a broker that uses the .pro suffix.

  • Copy closes and modifications

Choose whether exits and SL/TP changes from the source are mirrored.

Example Follow the entries, but manage your own exits.

  • Trading schedule

Limit each receiver to the days and hours you choose.

Example Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 22:00 UTC.

FAQ

Apex copy trading FAQ

Can I copy TradingView alerts into Apex accounts?

Not under Apex's current rules, which ban automated and algorithmic trading on all accounts. Copy only trades you place yourself on the source account.

Is this the "Apex trade copier" that Apex's FAQ mentions?

No. Apex's Tradovate FAQ describes an Apex trade copier that runs through NinjaTrader. Copygram is a separate cloud copier: it connects Apex accounts issued on Tradovate and copies the trades you place yourself, with nothing running on your computer.
