BrightFunded Copy Trading Rules: Own Accounts, MT5 for Copiers
BrightFunded allows copy trading only between accounts you own. See its hedging and EA rules, current plans, and why MT5 is the platform to use with a copier.

BrightFunded allows copy trading between accounts you own, at BrightFunded, other prop firms or retail brokers, and bans copying anyone else’s account or a signal group. Hedging the same instrument across accounts is prohibited, including through a trade copier. For a copier like Copygram, the platform decides the rest: BrightFunded says automated trading isn’t supported on its DXtrade, and Copygram doesn’t connect cTrader, which leaves MT5. Rules checked on October 26, 2026, against BrightFunded’s terms and help center.
What BrightFunded says about copy trading
BrightFunded’s terms say its accounts are for personal use and set one condition for copying:
“Copy trading is permitted only between accounts owned by the same individual.”
Source: BrightFunded Terms and Conditions, section 5.6
The help center spells out what that means:
- Allowed: copying between BrightFunded accounts, accounts at other evaluation firms and retail broker accounts, as long as you hold all of them.
- Not allowed: copying between accounts that belong to different people, including relatives, family and friends, and signal trading based on community groups.
- How it’s checked: a detection system flags accounts whose trades look very similar to others’ (opening and closing prices, trade size and symbols), and flagged accounts are reviewed by hand. Penalties range from a warning with profits deducted and the account reset, up to closing the account.

Which platform works with a copier
BrightFunded offers MT5, cTrader and DXtrade. MT5 isn’t available if you’re a citizen or resident of the US or the UAE. Source: Trading platforms, BrightFunded Help Center
| BrightFunded platform | Can Copygram copy to it? |
|---|---|
| MT5 | Yes. MT5 can send and receive trades in Copygram. |
| DXtrade | No. BrightFunded says API and automated trading aren’t supported on its DXtrade (EA rules). |
| cTrader | No. Copygram doesn’t support cTrader yet; it’s on the roadmap. |
So choose MT5 when you buy a BrightFunded account you plan to copy to. If you can’t get MT5 because of where you live, Copygram isn’t an option at BrightFunded for now. With MT5 you can copy from another MetaTrader account or from your own TradingView alerts. See the MetaTrader trade copier for setup.
Hedging, EAs and banned strategies
Hedging inside one account is allowed. Holding opposite positions on the same instrument in two different accounts is prohibited, and BrightFunded says this includes copy trading done manually or with an EA or trade copier. It also counts copying a hedge from one account into another. The first single-trade case gets a one-time soft breach (a warning, and all trades closed). Anything after that, or a case involving more than one trade, is a hard breach that closes the accounts. Source: How the hedging rule works
On a copier, that means: never reverse a receiver between BrightFunded accounts, and don’t copy from a source that holds a long and a short on the same pair. See reverse copying for what that setting does.
EAs are allowed, but they must stay within the daily and total loss limits. BrightFunded doesn’t guarantee that any third-party EA works on its platforms. It bans grid trading, arbitrage, tick scalping and high-frequency trading, and exploiting feed delays or execution errors. Source: Prohibited strategies
Its terms also warn against trades much larger or smaller than your other trades on the same or another account (section 5.7). Keep each receiver’s size in proportion to its balance rather than mixing very different multipliers.
The current plans
BrightFunded introduced three plans on April 13, 2026. Accounts bought before then are “Original” accounts, with the older rules (8% and 5% targets, 5% daily and 10% maximum drawdown).
| Plan | Profit target | Daily drawdown | Maximum drawdown |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2-Step Bright | 8%, then 5% | 4% | 8% static |
| 2-Step Classic | 10%, then 5% | 5% | 10% static |
| 1-Step | 10% | 3% | 6% trailing |
Every plan needs at least 5 trading days per stage, and a day counts only if a trade stays open for at least one minute. There’s no time limit and no consistency rule. The daily limit resets between 11:30 PM and 11:59 PM CET, and BrightFunded advises against trading in that window. Sources: Evaluation rules, Original accounts, Consistency rule
Set each receiver’s size in Copygram against its own plan: a 1-Step account with a 3% daily limit needs smaller trades than a Classic account at 5%. Copygram’s settings don’t replace BrightFunded’s limits and can’t guarantee you stay within them.
News and weekends
During the evaluation you can trade news freely. On a funded account, no trade may open, close or fill (stop-losses, take-profits and pending orders included) from 5 minutes before to 5 minutes after high-impact news. Profit from those trades is deducted, but the account isn’t breached. Take-profits on trades opened at least 48 hours earlier are exempt. Holding positions over the weekend is allowed. A copier copies whatever the source does, news trades included. On funded accounts, stop the source or the copy around high-impact releases.
Allocation and payouts
You can trade up to $400,000 of funded capital, for example two $200,000 accounts or four $100,000 accounts, and there’s no limit during the challenge. BrightFunded may suspend accounts with identical strategies that add up to more than $400,000. Source: What capital will I trade?
You can request your first reward 30 days after the first trade on a funded account, then every 14 days. The split is 80% by default, 90% with an add-on, and up to 100% through the scaling plan. Payouts go by bank transfer in euros or in USDC. Source: Reward split
A setup check before you copy
- Make sure every account in the route is in your name, and the source isn’t a signal group or someone else’s trading.
- Buy MT5 accounts; DXtrade and cTrader won’t work with Copygram at BrightFunded.
- Don’t reverse any receiver, and don’t copy a source that hedges within one account.
- Size each receiver against its own daily limit, and avoid the 11:30 to 11:59 PM CET reset.
- On funded accounts, stop copying around high-impact news.
- Test an entry, a stop-loss change and a close on the smallest account, and compare the records.
Copygram copies orders; it can’t make a trading arrangement allowed if BrightFunded’s rules forbid it. Copygram has no free trial, and first-time subscribers can ask for a refund within 7 days. Compare the plans when your setup is confirmed.
