The workflow explained
What is a MetaTrader to OANDA trade copier?
MT4 or MT5 supplies the account trade. Copygram applies your receiver rules. OANDA receives the copied order.
A MetaTrader to OANDA trade copier copies trades from an MT4 or MT5 sender account to a connected OANDA receiver. Copygram links the accounts in a room and applies your symbol mapping, sizing and order controls to each copied trade.
Your MT4 or MT5 account supplies the trades and a separate OANDA account receives them. Manual trades and trades opened by an existing EA follow the same workflow. Each account keeps its own balance and positions.
MT4, MT5 and existing EAs
Copy manual and EA trades from MT4 or MT5
Use the MetaTrader account you already trade. Copygram runs the copier in the cloud, while your existing EA keeps its own running environment.

MT4 and MT5 account copying
Connect either MetaTrader version as your sender. Copygram follows the trades on the account, including manual orders and trades placed through the MetaTrader mobile app.
No Copygram EA to install
Copygram connects the trading accounts and performs the copying in the cloud. You do not need to attach a Copygram Expert Advisor to a chart.
Keep your existing EA strategy
Your own EA can continue opening trades on MT4 or MT5. Copygram copies those account trades to OANDA using your receiver’s mapping and position-size rules.
Keep the EA’s environment running
The EA runs in your MetaTrader environment on your computer or hosting. Copygram handles the account-to-account copying; your existing environment continues running the trading strategy.
Manual trades, mobile trades and existing EA-generated trades use the same connected-account workflow.
How it works · step by step
Connect MetaTrader to OANDA in four steps
Connect your accounts, create a room, configure your receiver and activate copying.

01
1. Connect MetaTrader and OANDA
Add your MT4 or MT5 source through Copygram’s MetaTrader connection flow. For OANDA, enter your personal access token in API Key, choose Live or Practice under Account Type, then select the receiving account.
02
2. Create your copying room
Create a room with your MetaTrader account as the sender. Add one or more separate OANDA accounts as receivers. Give each receiver its own symbol mapping, position sizing and trade-management settings.

03
3. Configure mapping and receiver controls
Map the MetaTrader symbol to the exact OANDA instrument, such as EURUSD.a to EUR_USD. Set independent receiver sizing, symbol exceptions, stops, targets, close and modification controls, then choose your schedule.
04
4. Activate and follow your trades
Activate the room to start copying your demo or live account trades. Follow the source trade, Copygram log and OANDA order from one workflow. An existing EA continues running in its own MetaTrader environment.

Symbol mapping
Map MT4 and MT5 symbols to OANDA
Connect the exact source symbol to your broker’s destination instrument, including any naming prefixes or suffixes.

EURUSD.a → EUR_USD
Your MetaTrader provider may use EURUSD or a suffix such as EURUSD.a. OANDA uses EUR_USD for this forex pair. Map the exact sender symbol to the receiver instrument so Copygram routes the trade to the intended market.
Use the complete symbol name
Use the instrument names shown on your connected accounts. Include the MetaTrader suffix or prefix and OANDA’s underscore notation where it appears in the receiver’s instrument list.
Choose the receiver volume
Mapping selects the instrument. Your receiver sizing method and symbol-specific lot exceptions determine its volume, independently for each OANDA account.
Apply your instrument rules
Use symbol filters to choose which MetaTrader instruments the receiver follows. Keep each mapping aligned with the instruments you trade on the sender.
EURUSD.a and EUR_USD illustrate naming differences. Use the actual identifiers from your connected accounts.
Lots and units explained
Understand MetaTrader lots and OANDA units
Combine exact symbol mapping with independent receiver sizing. A standard FX example makes the relationship between lots and units clear.
Standard FX example: lots and base-currency units
Source: MT4 or MT5 volume in lots
Destination: OANDA instrument quantity
100,000 units per standard FX lot
Independent receiver sizing
0.01 standard lot
Represents 1,000 base-currency units when the source instrument’s contract size is 100,000 units per lot.
0.10 standard lot
Represents 10,000 base-currency units under the same standard FX contract specification.
1.00 standard lot
Represents 100,000 base-currency units. The lot-to-unit relationship comes from the source instrument’s contract size.
Quantity limits and precision
Use the OANDA instrument’s minimum quantity and permitted precision when configuring receiver volume.
Symbol-specific exceptions
Set an individual sizing rule where an instrument needs one. Symbol-specific lot exceptions take priority over general money-management settings.
Independent account exposure
Configure each OANDA receiver for its balance and intended position size. One MetaTrader sender can feed receivers with different volume rules.
Translate volume into exposure
Use the source contract size to understand the exposure represented by its lots. Configure Copygram’s receiver sizing separately for the OANDA account.
Keep mapping and sizing separate
Mapping selects EUR_USD or another destination instrument. Position sizing determines the receiver quantity. Configure both for each OANDA account.
These numbers illustrate standard FX exposure, not values to enter into a particular Copygram field. Use each instrument’s contract specifications for metals, indices and other markets.
OANDA receiver controls
Control how each OANDA receiver copies trades
Configure each receiver for its account and instrument. Use independent sizing, symbol rules and trade-management settings for accounts following the same MetaTrader sender.
Money management and symbol exceptions
Choose fixed-size, multiplier, balance-based or risk-based receiver sizing. Symbol-specific lot exceptions take priority over general money-management settings. Configure the resulting OANDA quantity for each account and instrument.

FAQ
MetaTrader to OANDA: frequently asked questions
Answers about MT4, MT5, existing EAs, account connections and receiver controls.
Can I copy MT4 trades to OANDA?
Yes. Connect your MT4 account as a Copygram sender and add OANDA as a receiver in a room. Copygram copies the account’s trades using your symbol mapping, receiver sizing and trade-management settings. Demo and live accounts are supported.
Can I copy MT5 trades to OANDA?
Yes. Add your MT5 account in Copygram, select it as the room’s sender and connect your OANDA receiver. Configure mapping, sizing and order controls, then activate the room to copy account trades automatically.
Do I need to install a Copygram EA on MetaTrader?
No. Copygram connects your trading accounts and runs the copying workflow in the cloud. You do not need to install a Copygram Expert Advisor on an MT4 or MT5 chart.
Can Copygram copy trades from an existing MT4 or MT5 EA?
Yes. When your existing EA opens trades on the connected MetaTrader account, Copygram copies those account trades to OANDA using your receiver settings. The EA stays in its own running MT4 or MT5 environment; Copygram handles the account-to-account copying.
Do I need a VPS or an open browser for copying?
Copygram’s cloud copier does not need your own VPS or an open browser. If an existing EA generates your source trades, keep that EA running in its MetaTrader environment, whether on your computer or hosting. Copygram copies the resulting account trades; it does not run the EA code.
What details do I need to connect OANDA?
Enter your OANDA personal access token in Copygram’s API Key field, choose Live or Practice under Account Type, then select the receiving account. Connect a separate OANDA account from your MetaTrader sender and configure its receiver settings in your room.
How do I map MetaTrader symbols to OANDA?
Map the exact MetaTrader symbol to the OANDA instrument. For example, EURUSD or EURUSD.a maps to EUR_USD. Use the names shown on your connected accounts and apply Copygram’s symbol mapping, prefix or suffix rules and symbol filters as needed.
How do MetaTrader lots compare with OANDA units?
For a standard FX contract of 100,000 base-currency units per lot, 0.01 lot represents 1,000 units, 0.10 lot represents 10,000 units and 1.00 lot represents 100,000 units. These are exposure examples. Configure Copygram’s receiver sizing independently and use the specifications of each destination instrument.
Can I copy stops, targets, closes and modifications?
Configure stop-loss and take-profit behavior in the receiver settings. Enable Copy Close Orders and Copy Modif Orders for the close and update actions you want OANDA to follow. Each receiver has independent trade-management controls.
Can one MetaTrader account copy to several OANDA accounts?
Yes. A Copygram room connects one MT4 or MT5 sender to one or more receivers, including multiple OANDA accounts. Give each receiver its own mapping, sizing and order controls, and choose a plan that covers your connected accounts.
