Top One Trader allows copy trading only between accounts you own, only on Challenge accounts, and only by hand. It has turned off all outside API access to its accounts, and its help center lists trade copiers among the tools that are no longer permitted, with no exceptions. That means a cloud trade copier such as Copygram can’t be used on Top One Trader accounts. Rules checked on October 27, 2026, against Top One Trader’s help center.

An earlier version of this article explained how to pass a Top One Trader challenge with Copygram. Those rules have changed, so we’ve rewritten it.

What Top One Trader says about copy trading

Top One Trader’s copy trading article sets these limits:

  • Challenge accounts: you may copy trades between accounts you personally own, by hand.
  • Funded and Instant Funded accounts: copying isn’t allowed, manually or automatically. You can’t copy any other account into a funded account, even one you own.
  • NOVA accounts: manual copying between your own NOVA accounts is allowed at both stages; automated copiers aren’t.
  • Several funded accounts: identical trades on different funded accounts need at least 30 minutes between them, or they’re flagged as copy trading.
  • Other people: copying between accounts owned by different people, including friends and family, is prohibited, and so are signal services and “pass your challenge” programs.

Why trade copiers can’t connect

Top One Trader says it has disabled all external API access, whether the access only reads the account or also places trades. The rule covers analytics, journaling and automation tools as well as copiers, and applies to every trader:

“trade copiers, and similar services that require API access are not permitted”

Copygram connects accounts from its own cloud servers, so it falls under this rule on every Top One Trader platform. One older troubleshooting article on the help center still gives tips for trade copier users. The API article is the stricter rule, so we follow it; if you see conflicting guidance, get Top One Trader’s answer in writing before you rely on any tool.

Platforms

Top One Trader offers TradeLocker (its most popular platform) and Match-Trader, both with TradingView charts, and MetaTrader 5. MT5 isn’t available to traders in the US, Canada, US Outlying Territories or Puerto Rico. You trade on accounts Top One Trader issues; you can’t bring your own broker account. EAs, hedging and other banned strategies

  • EAs: allowed during challenges with your own customised settings, and not on funded accounts. Two help articles add that EAs are allowed only on TradeLocker Challenge accounts. Commercially available EAs, hidden EAs and an EA that mirrors identical trades across accounts are banned.
  • HFT, martingale and latency trading: prohibited on every account.
  • Hedging: holding opposite positions across accounts, at Top One Trader or elsewhere, is prohibited, and the firm says its risk software looks for hedging patterns across firms. Hedging inside one account is allowed.
  • Accounts at other brokers: the prohibited-strategies article allows copying between your own Top One Trader accounts and accounts you own at other brokers, but nothing may be copied into a funded account, and API tools can’t be used either way.

Allocation

You can open several accounts, but combined funded capital is capped at $600,000 per person or household. Performance-based scaling can take this to $5 million. Source: What is the max allocation?

If you use Copygram

Copygram can’t be part of a Top One Trader setup while its API ban stands: trade those accounts by hand within the firm’s copying limits. If you want to copy trades across prop firm accounts automatically, start from firms whose rules allow third-party copiers. Our prop firm rules table quotes each firm’s own wording, and the TradeLocker and MetaTrader pages list the firms that offer each platform.
