Lucid Trading Copy Trading Rules: Copiers Allowed, Hedging Not
Lucid Trading permits trade copiers and automated systems, but bans hedging across accounts, users and firms. See Lucid's copying rules and account limits.

Lucid Trading explicitly permits trade copiers and automated trading systems, as long as every automated trade follows its rules, and it holds you responsible for any software error. Its hedging ban is one of the widest we’ve seen: it covers your own accounts, other users’ accounts and other firms. Rules checked on October 24, 2026, against Lucid’s own help center.
What Lucid says about copy trading
Lucid’s rules on other trading activities state it directly:
“Automated trading systems and trade copiers are permitted”
Source: Other trading activities, Lucid Trading Help Center
The same page sets two conditions. All automated activity must comply with Lucid’s rules, and you carry the consequences of any malfunction:
“Traders are fully responsible for any software errors, malfunctions, or unintended outcomes”
Lucid’s help center doesn’t spell out an own-accounts-only rule for copying, but it bans hedging between different users’ accounts, so copying with another person carries obvious risk. Copy only between accounts you own.
Third-party copiers and automation
The permission covers trade copiers in general, with no restriction to a platform’s built-in tool. Automated systems are allowed too, with two exclusions: high-frequency trading and microscalping are both prohibited. Lucid doesn’t describe any difference between evaluation and funded accounts, or say whether LucidLive accounts follow different automation rules.
Hedging, across everything
Lucid prohibits all hedging, including:
- long and short on the same contract in separate accounts of yours;
- a mini against a micro in separate accounts;
- correlated assets, such as long ES and short NQ;
- hedging between different users’ accounts;
- hedging between different firms or funded platforms.
Flagged accounts are reset, and repeat offenses lead to a breach and a ban. On live accounts, Lucid says hedges caused by a copier still count as violations. Source: Prohibited hedging, Lucid Trading Help Center
That last point matters for anyone copying from an account at another firm: if the source account at the other firm and your Lucid account ever face opposite directions, Lucid treats it as cross-firm hedging.

| Account | Limit |
|---|---|
| Evaluations | Up to 10 active per household |
| Funded accounts | Up to 5 active per household |
| Evaluations and funded combined | Up to 10 |

- Stay within 5 funded accounts and 10 accounts in total.
- Avoid high-frequency trading and microscalping.
- Test the copier on evaluation accounts first: Lucid holds you responsible for software errors.
What we couldn’t confirm
- Whether Lucid limits copying to your own accounts in so many words.
- Whether copying your own trades to an account at another firm is allowed, as opposed to hedging between firms, which is banned.
- Whether automation and copier rules differ on LucidLive accounts.
